So Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced is basically the current-gen glow up of one of the biggest open world crime games ever made. It is an action adventure game with driving, shooting, heists and a huge sandbox city called Los Santos. It is not a pure mobile game at all. You can get it on PC through Steam and the Rockstar launcher, and on consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. The original Grand Theft Auto V first launched back in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and this Enhanced version landed on current consoles in 2022 and hit PC in 2025. There is no proper android version and nothing to grab on Google Play, so do not expect to download it on your phone. It is a paid game, you buy it once, and there are no in app ads. The in game purchases are mostly for GTA Online shark cards and those run from a few dollars up to around a hundred for the biggest bundle.

You play as three different criminals, Michael, Franklin and Trevor, and you can switch between them almost anytime. The missions mix story heists with random chaos, and honestly the best part is just messing around in the city. My favorite thing is planning a heist and then watching it fall apart in the funniest way. You can drive anything, fly planes, rob stores, or just cruise the highway at sunset with the radio on. The Enhanced version on console and PC adds better visuals, smoother frame rates and some new vehicle options. On android you are out of luck, so if you want to install it you need a PC or a console.

Compared to games like Saints Row or Sleeping Dogs, GTA V Enhanced just feels bigger and more alive. Saints Row is goofier and Sleeping Dogs has great melee combat, but neither gives you this much freedom in one city. Watch Dogs has hacking, but the driving and shooting here feel better to me. I recommend it because one purchase gives you a massive story plus GTA Online, and the world still holds up years later. If you have a PC or console, grab it. If you only have android, save up for a console because this app is worth it.

features

  • Three character switching 🎮 You can jump between Michael, Franklin and Trevor mid mission, which keeps the story fresh and lets you approach jobs in different ways.
  • Massive open city 🏙️ Los Santos is packed with shops, highways, mountains and a full ocean floor, so there is always something to explore or destroy.
  • Heist planning 💰 You choose your crew and approach, and the payout changes based on how well you prepare, which adds real risk and reward.
  • GTA Online 🌐 You can play with friends, run businesses and race, and it keeps getting updates, unlike the more limited multiplayer in Saints Row.

pros

  • Endless freedom 🚗 You can ignore the story completely and still have fun for dozens of hours, which Saints Row does not match in scale.
  • Great value bundle 💵 One purchase covers the story and Online, while Watch Dogs splits its content across multiple paid games.
  • Polished driving and shooting 🔫 The handling and gunplay feel tight and responsive, better than most open world rivals.

cons

  • Online grind 😩 GTA Online pushes shark cards hard, and earning money legitimately takes a long time compared to Sleeping Dogs, which has no such economy.
  • No android support 📵 There is nothing on Google Play, so mobile players cannot install it at all.
  • Dated mission design 🕹️ Some story missions feel old next to newer open world games, and the loading between modes still annoys me.
